shadows
Shadows take on photos to a whole different meaning then what could've been without them. When shooting for them, they give you a new perspective on your subject. Timing is cruitial when working in a natural environment, such as our school campus. Since our planet's main source of light is in constant motion, it is always good to be well educated on how/ what/when you are taking your images containing shadows.
Viewing the article that were given to me, I was able to see how and in what way shadows can be captured in photos. Either in a beautiful or scary way, they end product was to be much boasted about.
My Procedure
With this assignment I edited my shadow photo by completely fixing the background and creating a artificial light source in between the shadowed hands.
I did this by using spot healing brush tool. To get rid of ground cracks, old gum, and unwanted dark spots that added texture to the background. I used the dodge tool to create a simple and not too overpowering light source in between the reaching hands to help tell the story of the image. Before I started the editing process on the photo, I also cropped out parts of the shadow and pieces of the persons so they couldn't take attention away from what I wanted to show.
